The
museum is installed in a restored, 17th century house
and is the fruit of the artistic interest of the Pérez de Rada
family, the marquises of Jaureguizar. The family’s collection
has gradually been formed over the centuries by continued
acquisitions. It therefore contains a rich and varied collection
of historic – artistic items, comprising paintings, tapestries,
books, documents, furniture … Of particular note is the set of
arms which includes blades, guns, hidden weapons and artillery
models.
The works of art held at the museum include four
paintings by Alonso Cano, Lucas Jordán, Francisco Bayeu, Mariano
Salvador Maella, Eugenio Lucas and José Casado del Alisal
respectively.
Opening times: Tuesday to Friday, from 10.30 to 13.30.
Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 14 h. Closed on Mondays.
